In my English class I just learn about Lincoln's history with students protesting, and White students leaving because of African Americans students were joining the school. Also how the school was shut down because students weren't coming to schools and because of that they cut back teachers later on in 2003 it was shut down. Then it was open again in 2007 and more students enroll there but, because there was more students they didn't have enough supplies so a protest was form by them again and wanted new supplies and better education. Lincoln's students have fought very hard for what they wanted and I'm very impressed how these students don't just give up and they keep fighting. That really inspire me on what kind of student I want to be this year and all the way to senior year.
Through kindergarten to 8th grade I have been reaching my goals, getting good grades. This year as a freshman I want to reach higher and by the time I'm a senior I have my life plan out. I pledge to keep being that student who always does their work and never tries to give up. I have this urge when every time I find out I'm not doing well in a class I work harder than I usually do just to bring that grade up. Anyone can do it if they just do the work. That's all it matters, that you don't give up and keep trying. I want to help students reach their goal, I want to inspire them to do their work and not give up or do a lazy job on the assignment just like these Lincoln students inspire me. I want to always be determine like those Lincoln students who were determine and protested for budgets cuts and low education.
I know this year will be harder than other school years and I'm ready. I want to make good decisions and have a good future for me. I'm doing this for me, not just for my family or friends but for me. I also want to convince other students who are failing to get up and keep working and tell them they need to do this for themselves. In conclusion I want to be the student who tries and never gives up and put a lot of effort in their work and be that person who tries to help other students to achieve their goals in school so they would have a better future.
