Response #2 Narration Structure

It was a early cold morning in New York. The ground was covered with snow and so was the walls and windows. A little girl wearing a blue hat, her head was covered only her blonde hair sticking out and her pink vest covering her small chest and her cargo pants and her brown mittens. If you were looking down you could only see a small dot in the alley way. That little dot would be her. The alley way looked a bit spooky and a little girl like Alma can be easily be snatch away or worse.

Alma stops walking as she sees a brown wall full of many names. Boys names and girls names on the wall. There was a blank space and it was reachable for Alma. Alma puts her left hand on the wall and her right hand writing something on the wall. Alma takes a few steps back and covers her little face from the cold with her mittens. The only thing you can see is her blonde hair, her slightly rose pink nose, and her green eyes. Behind Alma was a window shape as a circle and a door shape as if a toddler tried to draw a rectangle, a curvy rectangle.

Alma turns around and sees the window and the door and a doll standing on a table. What made Alma curious is that the doll was dressed just like her. Alma walk towards to the window which was covered with frost. As she wipes the frost off the window she saw that the doll was no longer standing in the table.

Where did it go? Alma thought. This made Alma more curious, Alma walks up the door and slowly opens the door, just enough to see half of her face. Alma goes into the room and sees shelves of different kinds of dolls. Her eyes stop when she saw the same doll on the table. As Alma walk towards it the doll just disappear. Like it teleported, Alma looks up and she was amazed on how now the doll was now on the shelf with other dolls.

Alma climbs on the sofa that was in front of the shelf that the doll was in. Alma takes a closer look at the doll... Same features expect the doll's eyes look light blue instead of green. Alma reaches to touch the doll. Her hand reaching to touch the doll's face and when she did...Her vision became like when you look in a telescope. She was not in the couch or outside. She became the doll. On the table near the window was a new doll. The doll had red long hair, pale skin, and was wearing a red coat with flowers. On the blank space on the wall was Alma's name. The new doll is now standing there in the window waiting for a little girl who looks exactly like the new doll. Waiting to be alive.

Response #1 Lincoln Pledge

In my English class I just learn about Lincoln's history with students protesting, and White students leaving because of African Americans students were joining the school. Also how the school was shut down because students weren't coming to schools and because of that they cut back teachers later on in 2003 it was shut down. Then it was open again in 2007 and more students enroll there but, because there was more students they didn't have enough supplies so a protest was form by them again and wanted new supplies and better education. Lincoln's students have fought very hard for what they wanted and I'm very impressed how these students don't just give up and they keep fighting. That really inspire me on what kind of student I want to be this year and all the way to senior year.

Through kindergarten to 8th grade I have been reaching my goals, getting good grades. This year as a freshman I want to reach higher and by the time I'm a senior I have my life plan out. I pledge to keep being that student who always does their work and never tries to give up. I have this urge when every time I find out I'm not doing well in a class I work harder than I usually do just to bring that grade up. Anyone can do it if they just do the work. That's all it matters, that you don't give up and keep trying. I want to help students reach their goal, I want to inspire them to do their work and not give up or do a lazy job on the assignment just like these Lincoln students inspire me. I want to always be determine like those Lincoln students who were determine and protested for budgets cuts and low education.

I know this year will be harder than other school years and I'm ready. I want to make good decisions and have a good future for me. I'm doing this for me, not just for my family or friends but for me. I also want to convince other students who are failing to get up and keep working and tell them they need to do this for themselves. In conclusion I want to be the student who tries and never gives up and put a lot of effort in their work and be that person who tries to help other students to achieve their goals in school so they would have a better future.
